Map of Finance dashboard, Accounting, Banking, Expenses, and Reports — formal books vs commerce performance (Growth+).
Business Suite · Finance
Ścieżka: Store → Finance · Accounting · Banking · Expenses · Reports
Definicja
Growth+ unlocks formal books and treasury. Each area has a distinct job: Finance is the day-to-day commerce money snapshot; Accounting is double-entry books; Banking moves cash/bank/MFS treasury; Expenses records spend (and payment when paid); Reports summarize business performance. This page is the map — open each dedicated article for how-to steps.
Plan & access
- Minimum plan: Growth+ with finance / accounting capabilities (confirm Store → Billing).
- Banking: create a cash treasury account before Cash → Bank/MFS deposits.
- Staff need matching finance / accounting / banking / expenses permissions.
Consistency rule: Finance shows an operational money snapshot; Accounting keeps double-entry books; Banking runs treasury movements; Expenses records spend; Reports show performance. Commerce Reports are not statutory financial statements.
What each module is for
Finance dashboard → day-to-day sales / payment cash snapshot (not formal books) Accounting → double-entry ledgers & statutory-style reports Banking → cash / bank / MFS treasury movements + reconciliation Expenses → expense records, payments, outstanding Reports → commerce / business performance summaries
Important: the Finance dashboard is not a substitute for Accounting.
Important: Commerce Reports ≠ Accounting. Use Reports for revenue/channel performance; use Accounting for Trial Balance, P&L, Balance sheet, Cash flow, and Tax.
Mental model
Commerce → Finance dashboard (daily cash / payments snapshot) Business Suite → Accounting (double-entry books) → Banking (treasury movements) → Expenses (expense transactions) → Reports (business performance)

Expenses — spend records
Expense record → Payment (when paid) → Outstanding (when unpaid)

Reports — commerce / business performance
- Revenue summaries and channel performance.
- POS closing when enabled on your plan.
- Caution: Reports = business performance; Accounting = formal books — do not treat commerce Reports as Balance sheet / P&L substitutes.

- Day-to-day sales cash view from orders / payments.
- Operational snapshot for quick decisions — not the source of truth for statutory books.
