HR (Human Resources)
Create and manage the employee directory: contacts, department, designation, status, and Enterprise branch assignment.
Business Suite · Ops & people
ਮਾਰਗ: Store → HR
ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ
Store → HR → New employee → profile (department?, designation?, contact?, branch?, status, salary?)
HR is the employee master directory for your store account — who works in the business. HR ≠ Staff (dashboard login) ≠ Payroll (period compensation). Creating an HR employee does not create a Staff login.
Compatibility
- Minimum plan: Business Suite (Billing name) or higher — confirm Store → Billing.
- Branch assignment: Enterprise (single primary branchId).
- HR permission required to create/manage employees.
- Dashboard access needs a separate Staff invitation.
- Payroll auto-includes Active employees with salary > 0.
HR = employee master · Staff = system access · Payroll = compensation processing.
HR vs Staff vs Payroll
HR → who works in the business?
Staff → who can sign in to the BonikBiz dashboard?
Payroll → whose pay is calculated / paid for a period?
HR Employee
├── Employee record ✓
└── Dashboard login ✗
↓
Store → Staff → Invite → Dashboard access An employee can have an HR record without a Staff login. Invite under Staff only when dashboard access is needed.
Path & fields

employee: {

employment: {
department?, designation?, joinDate?,

bankName?, bankAccountName?, bankAccountNumber?, bankRouting?
}
}
actions: list | create | update | terminate / reactivate
status: active | on_leave | terminated active — eligible for new pay runs (with salary > 0).
on_leave — still employed; not auto-included in new pay runs.
terminated — leave the company; excluded from new pay runs; HR/Payroll history retained (do not delete).
designation is the job title field in the UI. salary and bank/MFS payout details live on HR and feed Payroll.
branchId = one primary outlet (Enterprise), not multi-branch membership.
Add and manage employees
- Confirm Business Suite (or higher) on Store → Billing.
- Open Store → HR → New / Add employee.
- Enter name and contact details.
- Set department and designation (job title) if you use them.
- Set salary (and bank/MFS payout fields if needed).
- On Enterprise, select the primary Branch when relevant.
- Save as Active and confirm the person appears in the directory.
- For dashboard access: Store → Staff → Invite with the right role.
- When they leave: set status terminated — keep historical records.
Link to Payroll
HR → Active employee (salary > 0) → Payroll → Pay run → Review → Post journal → Pay
Correct HR data (name, Active status, salary) is a prerequisite before creating a pay run. Field-level pay-run steps: Payroll article.
Branch assignment (Enterprise)
Enterprise ├── Branch Gulshan → Employee A, B └── Branch Uttara → Employee C, D
Branch = organizational / outlet structure. HR = employee record. Assignment helps multi-outlet filters and reporting.
Examples
First hire Rahim · Sales · Sales Associate · Active · salary set → later Payroll Manager with dashboard access HR profile → Staff Invite → manager permissions Multi-outlet Assign Gulshan branch on that outlet’s HR records
Common errors
- No HR menu — check Business Suite plan and HR permission on Billing.
- Missing in Payroll — confirm Active + salary > 0 in HR.
- No Branch field — Enterprise + create branches under Store → Branches first.
- Cannot log in — HR record alone is not a login; invite under Store → Staff.
- Want to delete after someone leaves — use terminated; do not wipe history.
- Confused with Staff — Staff = system access; HR = employee master.
